Mitch Martin

Managing Director, The McLean Group

Mitch co-heads the Defense, Government & Intelligence practice and has led or co-led more than 100 M&A transactions in the sector, including the sale of Blue Force Technologies to Anduril and Babel Street to Veritas Capital.

An honors graduate of West Point, he served as an Army Captain commanding an infantry company in the Middle East, and holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Harry Ward

Managing Director, The McLean Group · President, DLS Marine

Harry brings more than 30 years of senior executive and M&A advisory experience across industrial, technology and maritime sectors, and is an Accredited Senior Appraiser for marine vessels and equipment.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he served as a Navy helicopter pilot and survival instructor, and holds an MBA in finance from San Diego State University.

Ryan Berry

Managing Director, The McLean Group

Ryan heads the firm’s Valuation Advisory practice and has performed and overseen thousands of valuation engagements — pre-IPO valuations, fairness and solvency opinions, purchase price allocations and impairment testing.

He earned a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, and is a CPA accredited in business valuation through the AICPA.

Joshua Butler

Managing Director, The McLean Group

Josh advises industry-leading companies in the Defense, Government & Intelligence practice on M&A, capital raising and corporate strategy, working with founder-owned businesses, sponsor-backed companies and corporate divestitures.

Previously a Director at Baird and Vice President at Barclays Capital, he graduated summa cum laude from Howard University and holds an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson School.

Paul Klick

Managing Director, The McLean Group

Paul has nearly 25 years of investment banking experience and has completed more than 80 sell-side, buy-side, capital formation and advisory assignments, leading the firm’s work in technology, media and telecom.

He previously held Managing Director roles at Evergreen Advisors Capital and Outcome Capital, and began his career at Friedman Billings Ramsey.

Andy Smith

Managing Director, The McLean Group

Andy co-heads the Defense, Government & Intelligence practice and has been recognised as a Super CPA by the Virginia Society of CPAs. He is a Certified Public Accountant, Accredited in Business Valuation through the AICPA, and a FINRA registered representative and financial and operations principal.

He began his career at KPMG as a corporate finance and audit manager in Washington, Moscow and Almaty, has been an adjunct professor with George Mason University’s MBA programme, and speaks and writes frequently on business valuation.
