More Than a Game: Giving Back at the Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic

The McLean Group was proud to sponsor this year’s Bob Kemp Lacrosse Classic, an exciting matchup between Navy and Harvard at Georgetown Preparatory School in Bethesda, Maryland.

On the Field

We came for the lacrosse, and the lacrosse delivered. Navy’s blue and gold took on Harvard’s crimson and white in a spirited, competitive game that gave the crowd plenty to cheer about.

But the real reason we were there is the reason the day exists in the first place.

More Than a Game

The Classic began in 2015, when the Kemp family set out to honor their father’s legacy and his strong belief that education is critical to success. It reflects Bob Kemp’s lifelong commitment to leadership, mentorship, and giving back, and this year marked the tenth annual game.

Proceeds from the event support the Washington Jesuit Academy, helping provide educational opportunities for young men in the Washington, DC, community. A single afternoon of lacrosse turns into a scholarship, and that is a trade we are always happy to make.

Rain or Shine

The weather did not cooperate, but the crowd did. Umbrellas went up, ponchos came out, and the competition on the field was every bit as spirited as the cheering from the sidelines. It was a fantastic afternoon of lacrosse, community spirit, and support for a truly meaningful cause.

We were pleased to have members of The McLean Group team and their families join us for the afternoon. Giving back is better with company, and it was a treat to share the day with the people we work alongside every week.

The Classic will be back at Georgetown Prep next fall, and we plan to be there again. Mark your calendar, and bring an umbrella just in case.
