Rockwell Collins sold its satellite
communications business to an
Atlanta-based private investor
group. The business, which
designs, manufactures and
services ground-based satellite
communication systems primarily
for military customers, will be
renamed DataPath, Inc. The
transaction is part of a strategy to
reshape Rockwell’s Government
Systems portfolio. The sale
includes operations in Duluth,
Georgia and Stockholm and
approximately 365 employees.
Textron subsidiary TRU Simulation
+ Training Inc. acquired ProFlight.
Based in California, ProFlight is an
advanced pilot training company
and FAA-approved Part 142
training center. ProFlight
specializes in Cessna Citation CJ
Series and Cessna Conquest
Series training. The acquisition will
allow Textron to better leverage
manufacturing, product, and
service expertise. Integrating the
two companies will allow Textron to
meet increased demand for pilot
and aircraft maintenance training.
Riverside Company and H-D
Advanced Manufacturing acquired
Sungear. Based in California,
Sungear manufactures high
quality, precision gears used by the
aerospace industry. Sungear has
a diverse customer base including
well-known aerospace sector
suppliers. The acquisition adds to
H-D’s position as a global
manufacturer of mission-critical
products.
