Tallahassee is the capital of Florida. It has one of the largest manufacturing and high tech industries in Florida and is the state’s center of agriculture and trade. The city is home to the state government, several major national law firms, lobbying organizations, trade and professional associations, including The Florida Bar and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Tallahassee is home to Florida State University and Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. FSU is a top academic institution housing the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, the Supercomputer Center and the Institute of Molecular Biophysics as well as several Nobel laureates. Together FSU and FAMU sponsor the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering, a well respected engineering college. Additionally, Tallahassee is home to Summit East, a high tech campus where businesses are incubated and grow.
