vcardScott Miller, a Managing Director in The McLean Group’s Milwaukee, WI office, has extensive senior level industry experience in transition planning for owners of middle market businesses with a particular focus on the use of ESOPs.
Mr. Miller launched his career at a national public accounting firm, and later became VP of finance and plan fiduciary for a large ESOP company. He then served as a principal in several family businesses. In 1993, he founded a nationally-respected consulting firm specializing in strategic transition services for owners of middle market companies. There, he assisted hundreds of businesses through transition planning by providing valuations, strategic planning, financing, fairness opinions, terminations and litigation support.
As a nationally-recognized authority on business valuations, Mr. Miller is published widely in professional journals and is a sought-after speaker for professional and industry groups. He writes and speaks on a broad range of topics, including: business succession planning, M&A, implementing ESOPs, valuing middle market companies, business transitions and corporate finance issues. Mr. Miller has authored technical seminars for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
A CPA, Mr. Miller has an undergraduate degree from Kenyon College and an MBA from the Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management.
