Lawrence Herbolsheimer, a Managing Director in The McLean Group’s headquarters office, is active in early-stage companies as an investor and board member. He founded several firms in which he maintains significant ownership and/or board participation. He also was co-chairman of a holding company in China and director of a management company of third-party direct investment funds with assets exceeding $350 million. He has helped a wide variety of firms obtain financing through venture organizations and individual investors.

From 1991 to 1995, Mr. Herbolsheimer was CEO of United Pacific Holdings, Ltd., a holding company for investments in Chinese and East Asian manufacturers. From 1985 to 1991, Mr. Herbolsheimer was deputy assistant administrator of NASA’s Office of Commercial Programs, advancing high technology projects having commercial potential. From 1983 to 1985, Mr. Herbolsheimer served on the direct staff of President Ronald Reagan in the White House.

Mr. Herbolsheimer holds a BS in economics from Illinois Wesleyan University and a Harvard MBA.
