John Beakley is the Managing Director of The McLean Group's Dallas office. More than 20 years ago, Mr. Beakley became a founding shareholder of the public accounting firm Beakley & Associates, PC in Lubbock, Texas. Mr. Beakley serves as the senior tax director and strategic management services director of the firm, and as such, his professional responsibility embraces all areas of taxation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, as well as strategic business and organizational consulting. He specializes in tax planning and strategic transaction design for high-income individuals, closely-held corporations, corporate valuations, corporate planning for acquisitions, mergers and dissolutions, litigation support, and ESOP, pension and profit-sharing planning and compliance.

Mr. Beakley also provides services to businesses in the areas of management consulting, budget and economic forecasting, compensation analysis, personnel evaluation, and strategic organizational restructuring. His undergraduate degree in psychology, post-graduate continuing education courses, and varied personnel management experience uniquely qualify him to provide practical insight into both management and personnel issues. When required, Mr. Beakley has utilized psychometric testing, such as the 16PF published by the Institute for Personality and Ability Testing, Inc., in order to facilitate individual personnel evaluations, as well as evaluation of the interactive dynamics of various business management groups.

During the past 20 years, Mr. Beakley has served as an expert in valuing closely-held corporations, partnerships, and businesses in both US Federal Court and several district courts. His valuation experience covers a wide range of industries. In November 1995, Mr. Beakley completed all certification requirements and was licensed by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

Mr. Beakley holds a BA degree in psychology from Texas Tech University and entered the MBA program at the University of Texas at El Paso, completing sufficient accounting and management hours to take the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examination. He was licensed as a CPA in April 1981. Mr. Beakley has been an instructor for the Texas Society of CPAs for several years in the areas of taxation, business planning, and auditing.
