Joe Golden serves as a Managing Director of The McLean Group. Mr. Golden has worked with middle-market businesses for the past 27 years, during which time he has been the founder, owner and president of four businesses.

Since 2002, Mr. Golden has orchestrated the sale of middle-market companies, among other things. He also has served as an outsourced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and/or advisory board member for a variety of companies across several industries. Mr. Golden co-founded a consulting firm providing financial, corporate restructuring, transaction advisory, corporate strategy and business development services for organizations striving to buy, sell, or radically transform their business.

Mr. Golden was CFO/Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a venture-backed, privately-owned leading provider of supply chain management optimization software for major retailers/manufacturers. While with the company, he also served as COO and Vice President (VP) of Sales, where he developed and executed a projected $20 million reseller and marketing agreement with a major technology company; he also managed the sale of the company.

Mr. Golden served as CFO/COO of a telecommunications software company, where he raised in excess of $25 million from angel investors, venture capitalists, and other institutions. In his dual role as VP of Sales and Marketing, he structured negotiated multi-million dollar contracts with major telecommunications service providers, helped to develop the company's original marketing strategy, and structured strategic alliance agreements.

He also worked with a business partner to build a successful real estate development firm, and worked as a leader for ten years with a Big Four accounting firm, providing strategic planning, financial consulting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and initial public offering (IPO) services to fast-growing companies. Mr. Golden has a BS in Accounting from Virginia Tech, where he graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. He also became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant in the early 1980s. He is a former Chairman of Virginia Governor's Conference on Small Business; a former Member of Northern Virginia Technology Council's CFO Steering Committee and a former Board member of the International Children's Foundation, The Fairfax County Council for the Arts, and numerous other community boards.
