vcardJoe Golden, a Principal at The McLean Group, has worked with middle market businesses for more than 30 years, during which time he has been the founder, owner and president of four businesses. His recent transactions include advising eXMeritus in its sale to Boeing (NYSE: BA); SENSA Solutions in its sale to Korn/Ferry International (NYSE: KFY), and Consolidated Safety Services in its acquisition of Dynamac Corporation. Washington Technology magazine named the eXMeritus acquisition one of its "Deals of The Year."
Since 2002, Mr. Golden has orchestrated sales of middle market companies while also serving as an outsourced CFO and/or advisory board member for a variety of companies across several industries. Mr. Golden co-founded a consulting firm that provided financial, corporate restructuring, transaction advisory, corporate strategy and business development services for organizations striving to buy, sell or radically transform their business.
Prior to 2002, Mr. Golden was CFO and COO of a venture-backed, privately-owned leading provider of supply chain management optimization software for major retailers/manufacturers.
As CFO/COO of a telecommunications software firm, Mr. Golden raised more than $25 million from angel investors, venture capitalists and other institutions. As the firm’s VP of sales and marketing, he negotiated multi-million dollar contracts with major telecommunications service providers, helped develop the company's original marketing strategy, and structured strategic alliance agreements.
Mr. Golden also worked with a business partner to build a successful real estate development firm, and worked for 10 years with a Big Four accounting firm, providing strategic planning, financial consulting, M&A and initial public offering (IPO) services to fast-growing companies.
Mr. Golden holds a BS in accounting from Virginia Tech, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is also the former chair of Virginia Governor's Conference on Small Business, and a former member of Northern Virginia Technology Council’s CFO Steering Committee.
