Gavin Long is The McLean Group’s Director of Industry Research. Mr. Long has nearly ten years of mergers & acquisitions (M&A) experience. Prior to The McLean Group, Mr. Long worked for Imperial Capital, a full-service investment bank headquartered in Los Angeles. While at Imperial, Mr. Long was the Head of Industry Research, primarily focusing on the Security and Aerospace Industries. As a recognized industry analyst, Mr. Long assisted both large strategic acquirers and private equity groups in their acquisition strategies. Most recently, Mr. Long has assisted Golden Gate Capital, a $2 billion private equity fund, with its acquisition strategy in the Homeland Security technology arena. Mr. Long helped execute a series of acquisitions for Golden Gate and the consolidated company recently exited to a large, international defense contractor, EADS. In addition to larger buy-side projects, Mr. Long has participated in more than 30 sell-side M&A mandates and has assisted numerous companies in raising growth equity capital.

Prior to Imperial Capital, Mr. Long founded his own firm, Market Intelligence, where he provided advisory services and acquisition research to private equity groups. Before his entrepreneurial initiative, Mr. Long worked with Andersen Corporate Finance in Boston, where he was a technology M&A banker. Mr. Long did his undergraduate work at the University of North Carolina and has advanced research experience at Harvard and Duke Universities. He is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registered representative (Series 7, 63, 86 & 87).
