Located on the Rio Grande, El Paso is the sixth-largest city in Texas and is home to several large businesses, including the offices of Eureka, Boeing, and The Hoover Company. It also hosts the headquarters of Helen of Troy Limited (a NASDAQ-listed manufacturer under labels such as Dr. Scholl's, Vidal Sasson, etc.) and Western Refinery, among others.

Education is a heavy force in El Paso, with The University of Texas at El Paso employing more than 3,500 individuals and enhancing the local economy by more than $350 million. The US Army's Air Defense Center also has played a major role in El Paso, locally producing about $60 million of products and services.
