David Smith has more than 25 years' experience in finance and accounting services. As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) sole practitioner, Mr. Smith is an expert in financial planning, business valuations (including gifting and buy-sell agreements), tax return preparation, certified audits, IRS representation, forensic accounting, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

From 1983 until 1986, Mr. Smith worked as an auditor for Coopers & Lybrand, now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers. He subsequently served as a litigation support and forensic accountant for various certified public accounting firms where he provided valuation business damage services, as well as business, individual and estate tax planning services. In 1995, Mr. Smith formed his own forensic, accounting and audit practice, providing services in individual, business damage, divorce consultation, individual business and estate planning.

Mr. Smith has taught Fraud Deterrence, Accounting Standard Issues and other financial planning and accounting seminars for professional accounting groups. He is a graduate of Nichols College, where he earned a BS in Business Administration Accounting. Mr. Smith has taken graduate-level courses at Babson College and Florida International University. He continues his forensic and valuation education through specialized courses developed by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).

Mr. Smith is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Certified in Florida Sales and Use Tax (CFST) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He also is certified in Florida Sales & Use Tax and has completed Series 7 and Series 63 examinations to become a registered representative. He holds insurance, real estate and mortgage broker licenses in Florida, and is qualified as an expert witness on business damage, forensic accounting (including divorce) and valuation issues.

Mr. Smith is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), NACVA, the Financial Planning Association (FPA), and the Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA).
