Mr. Smith is the Senior Managing Director of The McLean Group's business valuation practice, a middle market investment bank which performs business valuations for public and private companies for transaction, financial reporting, stock option plan, tax, and estate planning purposes. He has a broad background of experience, including public accounting, investment banking, and financial operations management. Mr. Smith was recognized as one of the "Top 50 CPA's" in Washington, D.C. area by Smart CEO Magazine.

His career began with KPMG Peat Marwick where he served as a corporate finance and audit manager in its Washington DC, Moscow, Russia, and Almaty, Kazakhstan offices. He later joined Washington Equity Partners as an associate director where he assisted in various international wireless telecommunications transactions. He also worked with a strategic advisory group to Lucent Technologies and was formerly the director of finance of a wireless telecom services company.

Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Richmond's E. Claiborne School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He is a National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) registered representative and financial and operations principal (Series 7, 28, and 63). He is also a national instructor with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and frequent author on business valuation topics.
