Andy Smith is a Senior Managing Director of The McLean Group and heads the firm’s business valuation practice, which performs business valuations for public and private companies for transaction, financial reporting, stock option plan, tax, and estate planning purposes. Mr. Smith’s career began with KPMG Peat Marwick where he served as a Corporate Finance and Audit Manager in its Washington DC, Moscow, Russia and Almaty, Kazakhstan offices. He later joined Washington Equity Partners as an Associate Director, where he supported various international wireless telecommunications transactions. He also worked with a strategic advisory group to Lucent Technologies and was formerly the Director of Finance of a wireless telecom services company.
Mr. Smith is a graduate of the University of Richmond’s E. Claiborne School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He is a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) registered representative and financial and operations principal (Series 7, 28, and 63). He also is a frequent author on business valuation topics and a former national instructor with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).
