Anticipated Government Spending Priorities
Selected Cabinet Nominees
•
Spending priorities are expected to focus on countering groups such
as ISIS and supporting regional security in the Middle East;
Cybersecurity and border security are expected to continue to
receive priority focus in homeland security, as well as addressing
illegal immigration and drug trafficking in Central America.
•
The incoming administration has expressed desire to invest in both
personnel and platforms across all military branches, particularly in
Navy and USAF platforms. However, enthusiasm has been partially
tempered by uncertainty and criticism of cost overruns on programs
(F-35, Air Force One, etc.). Additionally, funding for some OCONUS
operations, particularly in Central Asia, is anticipated to decrease.
